This is a natural space, located in the east of the island of Menorca, which is formed by S’Albufera des Grau, the island d’en Colom and the Cape Favàritx. In it you find a great diversity of environments such as wetlands, agricultural and livestock land, forests, cliffs, beaches, islets in marine areas.

Starting point of this hike route is Sa Mesquida car park where, going down to the beach, the stage begins towards the Natural Park of S’Albufera des Grau, the core of the biosphere reserve.

There is the option for the minibus to make a second stop in Es Grau for walkers who prefer to start the tour in S’Albufera des Grau.

On the way you find two English defense towers, the Sa Mesquida Tower at the beginning of the path and the Rambla Tower, which separates Sa Torreta Cove from Cala des Tamarrels.

The Illa de Colom is situated in front of the bay of Es Grau, an uninhabited islet, except for the endemic Balearic lizard.  The islet has an abandoned iron and copper mine.

The route of Cami de Cavalls ascends to the north crossing bays, headlands and the beautiful beaches of Tortuga and Cala Presili, until you reach the end of this varied itinerary in Cabo de Favaritx with its lighthouse built in 1922, one of the most famous postcards of Menorca, a well known place for the dark tone of the rocks and limited vegetation.

The hike route ends at the parking of the lighthouse from where our bus returns you to  Mahon. For walkers who prefer to hike another 10.5 km: the coach will make a second stop in Addaia.

From Favàritx to Addaia, the road heads inland through the undulating landscape so typical of this part of the island. You return to the coast in Pou d’en Caldes, one of the points that contains the largest concentration of endemic plants on the island.

Then the hike route returns inland and crosses the wet areas of great naturalistic interest located within the boundaries of the S’Albufera des Grau park, such as Addaia and Mongofra salt lakes, one of the best spots for birdwatching.  The route continues into wooded area of lloc d’Addaia  finishing in the urbanization of Addaia where our bus will pick you up to return to Mahón.
