This is the most spectacular route of the south coast.
The day starts with a transfer from Ciutadella to the Son Xoriguer tourist resort located on the southwest coast of the island; the walkers who prefer to start directly from the port of Ciutadella and hiking down the west coast will leave directly on foot, adding 16 km more to their route.
The hike route crosses the most renowned beaches of the island: Son Saura, with its dune system and wet area, Cala Turqueta, Macarella and Macarelleta with its wonderful crystal clear turquoise waters.
In winter and spring, it is common to find sandy areas covered by Posidonia grasslands, plants that play an important role in protecting the beach against the erosive waves of storms. Passing from inlet to inlet you also find the cave Cova Des Pardals, an old waterwheel and bunkers from the Second World War, camouflaged in the landscape. The route goes inland and ends in the tourist area of Cala Galdana.
